I am Lucy Dracott .
With a degree in Childhood and Youth, some people are often surprised by my love for photography. But I do, I absolutely love it. For as long as I can remember, I have found so much joy in capturing the little and big moments in life. Every day contains something wonderful, something worth remembering. I have found photography a way to help me remember all the things I can be grateful for, and I hope it can for others too.
It has been years of learning and practice, as well as some amazing opportunities such as working for a wedding videography and photography company before launching my own photography business!
Here are some other fun facts about me:
- I am based in Brighton (well, Hove actually) and living by the sea with my husband is just the best. We are currently renovating our very first flat!
- For all the Myers-Briggs fans out there, I'm an INFJ, which basically means I'm an extroverted introvert.
- As well as a passion for photography, I also love working with young people and talking about emotional health. I even host my own podcast called The Emotional Health Podcast.
- Tea over coffee everyday.
- I have been with my husband since we were 15 years old and would call myself a romantic
- My dog is called Bailey and he is the best boy around
I want to provide you with a luxury experience, that makes you feel as if you are the only couple getting married. This ranges from your very first enquiry all the way to when you are crying happy tears over your photos. This is such an exciting time for you both and I wish for you to feel as special as possible the whole time.
Having planned my own wedding, I truly understand the ins and outs and all the little details on the day so I promise not only be your photographer but to be your veil holder, water fetcher and general emotional support/hype woman.
You will feel completely comfortable and confident in front of the lens. All the pictures you see on my website? None of them are models - although they could be! But they are everyday people who I have helped to be at ease on camera and I really believe it shows.
Call me your personal cheerleader. I will only ever be there to encourage you and provide a comforting space to return to when you need it. Having a passion for supporting people's mental health, I can easily empathise with how you are feeling and will want to meet your emotional needs too.
I believe in getting to know you both before the wedding day so that on the wedding day you are not feeling awkward around a stranger who is following you round with a camera! I want to be laughing and happy crying along with you.
I am here for you when you need it. Not only for photos on your day. Leading up to your wedding I am available to chat through any wedding plans (photo related or not) and bring wisdom from the many weddings I have been involved with that may help you make decisions.
And of course, I will be providing you with beautiful images from your day that you'll love and be proud to display forever
